Father of Lies
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”
Exodus 3:14 NASB
God has condescended to reveal Himself to us and thus is humanly comprehensible to the degree that finite man can know the infinite creator. Incomprehensibility admits that man’s finite understanding of what God has revealed about Himself can never plumb the fullness of the depth, breadth, and glory of God’s nature. His character. His being.
It is God Himself who puts it in our hearts to seek Him and makes it possible in some measure to know Him, and He is pleased with even the feeblest effort to make Him known. Hebrews describes Jesus, “He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.”
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
You had me on your mind long before the foundation of the world. You settled on me to be the focus of Your love, to be made whole and holy by your love. Jesus said, “You did not choose me, but I chose you” (John 15:16). Thank you, Lord, for calling me, giving me right standing with You, and giving me Your glory. In Your eyes, I am wanted. Help me know and receive Your love today!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
